John Wisniewski is a highly accomplished and results-driven executive with extensive experience in financial control, reporting and performance, organizational growth, investor and lender relations, acquisitions, divestitures, regulatory compliance, strategic direction, revenue cycle management, payer relations, and related systems and processes.
John began his career as a Senior Audit Consultant at Deloitte & Touche, LLP from 1984 to 1987, conducting a wide variety of audit engagements. From 1987 to 2000, he was the CFO and Practice Management Affiliate CEO at Nix Healthcare System, where he managed financial operations and strategic planning for a stand-alone healthcare system. During his tenure, he reversed an approximate $1.2M annual operating deficit to sustained profitability and reduced net A/R days from 97 to 51. He also developed and operated Veritas Practice Management Company, provided full-scope physician practice management, and restructured the business office, among other achievements.
From 2000 to 2008, John served as the CFO of HCA (Metropolitan and Northeast Methodist Hospitals), managing financial operations including health information, utilization management, information systems, financial strategic planning, accounting, budgeting, and reporting. He oversaw significant facility expansions, resulting in combined facility EBITDA growth from $5.2M to $48.2M, and served as Ethics and Compliance Officer.
In 2008, John became the CEO of the Bexar County Medical Society, a position he held until 2013. He led operations for the 8th largest County Medical Society, managing for-profit subsidiaries and a charitable foundation. He achieved record membership and strengthened financial reserves while representing physician members in leadership roles and speaking engagements.
From 2013 to March 2017, John was the VP of Strategic Accounts at Xenex Disinfection Services, LLC. He created and managed a function to evaluate hospital-acquired infection data and develop, implement, and measure clinical and financial impacts. He provided regulatory and reimbursement research and analysis, developed tools to track infection rates, measure financial impact, and demonstrate ROI to Health System CFOs.
John then served as CFO at Nix Health Care System from March 2017 to June 2019. He managed all financial operations for a health care system generating $120M in annual net revenue, focused on revenue cycle operations, state DSH, supplemental payer programs, and payor relations, implemented a cost accounting system, and developed a cost reduction and financial stability plan. He also supported business development and operational leadership during a 12-month CEO vacancy.
From July 2019 to January 2023, John was the CFO at Little Spurs Pediatric Urgent Care. He led financial reporting, lender relations, revenue cycle, payer relations, business intelligence, KPIs, cash management, and overall financial performance. During his tenure, he achieved revenue growth from $20M to $30M and doubled EBITDA. He built a financial control and reporting infrastructure and team, created staffing and position control processes, company-wide KPIs, and volume-based, flexible goal tracking. He completed a tuck-in acquisition, led administrative elements of de novo expansion strategy, and established a new service line offering autism therapy. Additionally, he amended the senior debt agreement and managed all treasury and banking relationships.
In January 2023, John took on the role of Fractional CFO for Mainstreet PT, LLC and Lincoln Reimbursement Services, building financial infrastructure and guiding acquisition strategy for growing multi-location, multi-state healthcare entities.
As of May 2024, John is now the CFO for Donald L. Mooney Enterprises, where he continues to leverage his extensive experience and skills in financial management and strategic planning. John holds a BBA in Accounting from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas.
